Sunset Strip
Sunset Plaza & Sunset Hills
A mile and a half stretch of Sunset Blvd that passes through the North border of West Hollywood, and ends at the eastern border of Beverly Hills, The Strip has a rich history as a notorious area to party. In the 1920’s, gambling was legal in the County but not in the City, and fell into a gap between the city of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Casinos and speak-easies lined the Strip where celebs of the day came to drink and debauch during Prohibition.
Today, best known for development of cutting edge culture in music and comedy, Sunset Strip is lined with clubs…
The Roxy, Whiskey, Viper Room, Rainbow Room, Laugh Factory, The Comedy Store, House of Blues to name a few. Great hotels… Chateau Marmont, The standard, the Argyle The London, and infamous Riot Hyatt; restaurants…Trocadero, Katana, BOA Steakhouse, Ketchup, BLT and high-end fashion boutiques… round out this famous playground for the rich and famous and curious.
Know to attract celebrity clientele, the Sunset Plaza area buts up against the Beverly Hills City lines and ends just next to Laurel Canyon and the top of Mulholland Drive.
Unique properties within the area include houses in “the Birds”, where all the streets are named after a different bird, the Doheny Estates. Celebrity residences have included Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz, and Sandra Bullock.
Residents enjoy seclusion and staggering views of Los Angeles. Prices can range from $3-5 million up to $10 million.
